Dear members of GYTS, I know you've all been waiting with baited breath, but fear not, the moment has come!

Drum roll please...

THE 2012 COMMITTEE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

Read on to discover who controls the destiny of the society over the next year...

Chairman: Augusta Lees

Augusta chairs meetings and is responsible for the smooth running of the society.

Augusta joined GYTS in 2010 and, after instantly impressing us all with her belly dancing skills, was cast as Tintinabula in 'Funny Thing' - inspiring the line 'she has a pelvis like a camel!' She was also one of the amazing cowboy trio in 'Crazy For You.' A piano teacher in her professional life, Augusta is also a member of Grantham Operatic Society and The Grantham Singers - recently playing Josephine in 'HMS Pinafore.'

To contact Augusta e-mail chair@gyts.org.uk

Secretary: Rebecca Bates

Rebecca takes minutes of the meetings, constructs letters and sends jolly e-mails to society members to update us on all the news!

Rebecca joined GYTS in 2010 for our amazing performance of 'Funny Thing.' She was the communications officer for the committee last year and enjoyed herself so much she has now become our secretary!  Becky (as she is more commonly known!) is a huge fan of Harry Potter and is also a member of the Grantham Choral Society Youth Choir.

To contact Rebecca e-mail secretary@gyts.org.uk

Treasurer: Luke Musson

Luke is in charge of the day-to-day finances and budgeting.

Having performed in all our productions to date, Luke is well known to GYTS!  After enjoying the role of treasurer for the committee last year so much, he decided to continue this year!  As well as overseeing the money side of the society this year, Luke is also going to be co-choreographing our 2012 production of 'Me and My Girl' so he's going to be rather busy!

To contact Luke email info@gyts.org.uk

Communications: James Burrows

James is in charge of publicity, press and updating the website.

James joined GYTS in 2010 to play a soldier in our amazing performance of  'Funny Thing' and enjoyed himself so much that he came back last year to play Bobby in 'Crazy For You!' This is James' first time on the committee and his way of trying to give back to the society that has loved and nurtured him these last two years (and to find out if the rumours of cakes and biscuits are true!). He has performed the role of 'comic sidekick with a stupid hat' in various amateur productions and is well known for his love of Disney and bacon!

To contact James e-mail info@gyts.org.uk

Fundraising: Richard Baker

Richard is in charge of arranging lots of fundraising events throughout the year which means we don't go on stage wearing bin-bags!

Richard is well known to all in GYTS as he has been involved with all of our productions to date and was the director for our productions of 'Crazy For You' and 'Hot Mikado.' In his working life, Richard is a secondary music teacher and in his spare time (!), Richard is the Musical Director for Grantham Operatic Society and also performs with the Grantham Singers and St Peter's Hill Players.

To contact Richard e-mail info@gyts.org.uk

Producer: Elaine Bishop

Elaine is the very valuable link between the committee and the production team!

Elaine is a co-founder of GYTS and has been involved on the committee ever since the society began - having been our chairman, secretary and treasurer in previous years! In her working life, she is a singing teacher, singer and musical director working with Lincolnshire Music Service, The Grantham Singers, Lincolnshire Star Academy and St Wulfram's Church Choir amongst others.

To contact Elaine e-mail directors@gyts.org.uk

NPO: Sophie Knowles

Sophie is our resident dance expert and performs with many local groups, including Grantham Singers and Grantham Operatic Society. As well as being on the committee for the last couple of years, Sophie was also the choreographer for two GYTS performances - creating the brilliant dance sequences for 'The Boy Friend' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum.' She is also going to be co-choreographer for 'Me and My Girl' this year, so will be one busy lady!

To contact Sophie e-mail info@gyts.org.uk

NPO: Sophie Bryne

Sophie has been involved in the last two GYTS productions. She is very enthusiastic about musical theatre and is looking forward to being on the committee for the first time. She is extremely excited about next year's show 'Me and My Girl' and also being part of the choreography team!

To contact Sophie e-mail info@gyts.org.uk

NPO: Katie Muffett

After performing in the last 2 productions, Katie is an enthusiastic member of GYTS! This is her first year on the committee and she is very excited to fulfil her place! Katie is also on the choreography team for our 2012 production of 'Me and My Girl.'

To contact Katie e-mail info@gyts.org.uk

At our AGM in December 2010, we also elected two life members to our society - Hannah Coleman and Adam Bishop - both of whom were founding members of the society. They have been involved in the society from the very beginning and are instrumental to its success. We thank them for all their hard work and support and look forward to their continuing support and interest in GYTS.

Life Member: Hannah Coleman

Hannah was one of the co-founders of GYTS and the secretary of the society for the first two years. She also directed 'The Boyfriend' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum' and took leading roles in 'Hot Mikado' and (at the last minute) in 'The Boyfriend.'

Life Member: Adam Bishop

Adam was one of the co-founders of GYTS and the treasurer of the society for the first two years. As well as taking lead roles in 'Hot Mikado' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum,' he was also heavily involved in the backstage side of our productions - designing and creating set and lighting plots! After turning 31 last year, he is now officially our first 'Old GYT!'

Et VOILA! That's your committee for the year folks - and they want to hear from YOU, so if you have anything to say, talk to us, please! Even if it's to discuss general things like biscuits or the political climate.
